Worid Express (CMB) Ltd was started in Sri Lanka as an International Freight Forwarding Company 25 years ago 1981 as a Sri Lanka Thailand joint venture, with Board of Investment approval for foreign companies to own shares of the company to repatriate freight charges , dividends and maintain Foreign Currency Bank accounts.

World Express was one of the first companies to start Air cargo charters in Sri Lanka in the early 1980.1990's World Express expanded its services to seafreight, clearing of import cargo, bulk cargo, and high value cargo such as gold etc and forwarding and transportation, of project cargo, personal effects, diplomatic cargo, ransshipment and NVOCC operations.Today World Express is one of the biggest container transport fleet operators.

The Sri Lanka customs recognised the intergrity a commitment of World Express and awarded the first Gold Card status as a Custom House Agent.

World Express was selected by E-Services Sri Lanka for testing the EDI cusdecs and we submitted the first on line, EDI CUSDEC to BOI Katunayake, and BOI Biyagama. Presently we submit by EDI to the long room TIEP and bonds, EDI CUSDECS for over customers.

World Express has a staff of 66 of employees and who are well trained and well equipped with inter mobile communication with the office and the field staff. Our transport fleet is equipped with VHF Communication and senior Wharf Executives are given VHF Walky Talky for speedier clearance and transportation of cargo.

World Express has three Offices the Head office in Colpity Colombo 3, (behind the Prirnn Mini.sIrT', Offir.o, nr.ir
Amplic.an and Britir.h Embassy). Second Office in BOI Office Complex in Biyagama FTZ, to service the Biyagama free trade zone.The thired, logistics center and yard at Bopitiya Ja-Ela (on the pori Airpori oxprcs'.w.iy) servicing the
Airport and Katunayake free trade zone and the Fkala industrial estate.

Our Directors are well known business personalities in Sri Lanka and the Managing Director has specialised in E- Commerce and Supply Chain Management.

World Express is servicing many large multinational companies and first time Importers and Exporters. World Express is willing to keep a separate wharf team to handle your cargo where our staff members report to the respective client factories in the morning.

World Express has advised many companies how to improve on their supply chain and logistics management and have improved efficiency in their shipping departments and saving them considerable amount of money.

Presently we are developing land for a Logistic yard, for third party logistic and warehousing management and are looking out for joint venture partners or investors or agents.
